An original performance series highlighting Watermill alumni, reACT provides past resident artists with a unique opportunity to return to Watermill and present groundbreaking works that are intimately linked to The Center.В  The 2016 season will kick-off on Memorial Day weekend with a site-specific performance by the internationally-renowned Trisha Brown Dance Company. The series will continue in the fall with Paola Prestini (September) and Jack Ferver (October).

Trisha Brown: In Plain Site, The Watermill Center, Water Mill, NY, a selection of material from the Company’s extensive repertoire that will be presented as a memorable site-specific performance at The Watermill Center, allows Brown’s dances to be freed from the constrictions of the conventional stage and to be once again performed in unexpected locations.

Oceanic Verses is a multi-media opera cantata with a musical score created with folk music, improvisation, and contemporary classical music by composer, Paola Prestini. The soundscape brings together choruses, soloists, and instruments, and engages musicians and choruses to tell the stories of four characters caught between waves of immigration continually transforming an ancient landscape.

Chambre is a hybrid interdisciplinary performance and art installation that draws from Jean Genet’s iconic play Les Bonnes (The Maids) and the real-life murder case that inspired the play, in which sisters Christine and Léa Papin murdered the mother and daughter who were their employers.
