Chewing the Scenery
is a multi-part project taking place in and around the Teatro Fondamenta Nuove in Venice. It consists of various elements, of which some are permanently on view, some appear at specific times and others only become visible at particular moments.
A film installation comprised of the two films «No Future» and «No Past» by Pauline Boudry / Renate Lorenz is permanently screened in the space.
The installative dramatisation «Deviare – Vier Agenten – Part of A Movie» by Tim Zulauf / KMUProduktionen is performed live from 16:00 to 18:00 every day during opening hours (with a special performance schedule for the preview days).
A publication set to appear in three reworked and extended editions brings together artistic contributions by Maria Iorio / Raphaėl Cuomo, Uriel Orlow, Eran Schaerf and texts by Ann Cvetkovich, Mathias Danbolt, Antke Engel, Patricia Purtschert, Rubia Salgado and others.
Additionally, a special series of live events with screenings, lectures, performances, discussions and concerts takes place on 4 June 2011 and from 7 – 10 September 2011 at Teatro Fondamenta Nuove.
